Join ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA’s Jakarta Business Meet-Up

ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA’s new roadshow of Asia Business Meet-Ups kicks off in the Indonesian capital on 27 February.

ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA is launching a new series of Business Meet-Ups across key markets in Asia to deepen its connections with key players and build even greater momentum for the trade show’s return to Hong Kong on 4-6 September 2024.

ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA has selected four key markets for its 2024 roadshow of Business Meet-Ups – Indonesia, India, Thailand and China.

The series of content-backed networking events kicks off with the Jakarta Business Meet-Up on 27 February. Taking place at the Pullman Jakarta Hotel, the Business Meet-Up brings together leading players in Indonesia’s fresh produce business.

The programme – ‘Growing demand in Indonesia’s fresh produce industry’ – features a preview to ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA 2024 on 4-6 September in Hong Kong as well as a range of expert talks and presentations.

“We’re really looking forward to bringing together existing and future partners in Indonesia for a day of networking and knowledge-sharing,” said David Axiotis, Managing Director of Global Produce Events, organiser of ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA. “We’ll share our exciting plans for ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA 2024, and you can look forward to some great insights from expert speakers on the newest trends and innovations to help grow your business in 2024.”

Expert insights

Setting the scene, Ira Soekirman, director of leading market research company Roy Morgan Research, outlines the latest consumer and retail trends in fresh produce in Indonesia. She explains how online shopping is providing a new retail platform for fresh fruit and vegetable suppliers.

Turning the focus to Indonesia’s production and exports, Margareta Astaman, Founder and CEO of Java Fresh, shares her inspiring insight on how to grow a successful fresh fruit export business from the ground up while Amrit Lakhiani, CEO of Beleaf Farms, explains the solutions the agtech startup is bringing to Indonesia’s smallholder farmers.

The programme wraps up with a panel discussion on the future of Indonesia’s fresh produce business. Hendry Sim, Vice Director of Laris Manis Utama, Fedie Mulia, Founder of HALOFRESH, and Yuyuh Sukmana, Southeast Asia Regional Manager of Vanguard International, join Asiafruit Magazine Editor John Hey to discuss Indonesia’s market evolution, from the growth of fruit imports to new investments in cold chain infrastructure.

Day Two (28 February) of the Jakarta roadshow sees the ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA team head out on market visits to meet with some of Indonesia’s leading retailers and fresh produce companies.

Following the Business Meet-Up in Jakarta, the roadshow heads to Mumbai, where ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA is the Official Partner of Fresh Produce India on 21-22 March, organised by Fruitnet. Thailand is the next stop, with a Business Meet-Up in Bangkok on 3 April. The final stop is Shanghai, where ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA hosts its China Business Meet-Up on 27-28 May.
